Hi all. I'm (painLESS)Kerry the proprietor of the business.
I have been piercing professionally since 1995. I was always the one at school piercing everyone's ears and noses in the school yard. If you had said to me then that I would be running a business doing just that I guess I would have laughed at you. With my sister being in the tattoo industry, it was only a matter of time, and she encouraged me to go to America and learn to pierce properly.
I started nursing before I became a piercer so I would have a better idea of aseptic techniques and cross contamination. I was also the NSW rep for the Australian Professional Piercing Association.
We are continuing our quest to make the customer more knowledgeable about what to expect from a piercing. Not everyone out there knows what they are doing, there is a lot more to just sticking a hole in someone.
Please come in and have a chat, browse around, please ask lots of questions. I base my reputation on every
piercing that passes through this shop.
My favorite thing about this shop is meeting so many different people and seeing the changes from when
they come into the shop, from being extremely nervous, to finally walking out saying that it was a great
experience and with a huge smile on their faces.
We first opened in 1996 I have a nursing background plus having attended piercing conferences in USA and did training courses with Guantlet (USA) in 1995.
A lot of people claim to have apprenticed at Holier Than Thou. Just to clarify matters, only two people have done an apprenticeship here, they are Gigliola Harrison and Jenn Davis. Some people have watched what I do and have worked on the counter here, this does not justify them saying they were trained here. These other people do not know the nitty gritty of what i teach the apprentices. Jenn and Gig are fantastic piercers that have worked here on and off over the years, with an immaculate bedside manner.
